
Digital Creator & Design Specialist
Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity’s Digital Creator & Design Specialist is responsible for supporting marketing and communications efforts through compelling photo, video, and graphic design content. This entry-level role works closely with the Marketing & Communications Director to design print and digital materials, capture photos and video, and support social media execution. This is an ideal role for a creative self-starter who enjoys editing, visual storytelling, and contributing to a mission that builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Ambassador of Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity:
The Digital Creator & Design Specialist interacts regularly with internal teams, volunteers, partner families, and members of the public, representing Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity in a positive, creative, and professional manner. They are responsible for understanding and communicating the organization’s mission, vision, and impact through engaging visual content across print and digital platforms. This role supports brand storytelling that fosters awareness, community engagement, and alignment with Habitat’s values. Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Marketing & Communications Director in producing high-quality, on-brand digital and print assets for marketing campaigns, events, and donor communications.
- Captures original photo and video content at events, build sites, ReStores, and homeowner milestone celebrations.
- Edits photo and video content for use across social media, websites, and email campaigns.
- Supports the creation of short-form videos (e.g., reels, stories, YouTube Shorts) utilizing trending formats and audio.
- Designs flyers, signage, digital graphics, and occasionally printed materials, including large-format pieces.
- Resizes, prepares, and organizes visual assets for distribution across multiple platforms (web, email, social media), and delivers post-event photos to relevant team members.
- Assists with content scheduling and engages with audiences on social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Stays informed on the most current social media trends, video editing tools, trending audio, and best practices for visual content.
- Explores and applies AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Sora) to enhance content creation and improve workflow efficiency.
- Maintains the digital asset library, including photos, b-roll footage, templates, and marketing files.
- Ensures all content aligns with Habitat’s brand guidelines and visual standards.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in visual design or multimedia marketing (internships included)
- Portfolio demonstrating skills in photography, design, and/or short-form video (please include a link to samples with your application).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro),CapCut (or similar), and Canva.
- Comfortable operating DSLR or mirrorless cameras for photo and video capture
- Familiarity with TikTok-style video creation, trending audio, and dynamic content formats.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events and content capture
- Passion for storytelling and alignment with the mission of Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity.
- Demonstrated interest in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Sora) to support content creation and ideation.
Preferred:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication design, digital media design
- Experience working or volunteering with a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Familiarity with maintaining digital asset libraries and using project management tools.

- Targeted compensation: $17–$19 per hour (commensurate with experience; to be confirmed)
- Typical Workweek: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position primarily operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment. However, the role also requires occasional work in outdoor environments, particularly during events, home dedications, and build site visits. Candidates must be comfortable navigating active construction sites and community event settings, sometimes in varying weather conditions. Occasional standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), and use of photography/video equipment may be required.
**This position is primarily based at the main office but may require occasional travel to off-site locations for events, build site visits, and community storytelling. **
