AmeriCorps is a federally funded one-year national service program that places individuals in disadvantaged communities to help residents become more self-sufficient.
The program is administered by the Corporation for National Service, a public-private partnership created in 1993 with bipartisan support among the Congress, the President,
and community groups nationwide. AmeriCorps members provide direct service to the community by assisting our construction team with our house building efforts.
AmeriCorps has been an integral part of Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity. Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity is proud to have an AmeriCorps Construction Team which helps provide valuable service to Habitat's projects in many Cleveland communities.
If you are interested (or know of someone who may be interested), please refer them to the AmeriCorps web page at www.AmeriCorps.org or check out our Habitat "Employment" page.

Over the years AmeriCorps members have:
- led thousands of volunteers on Habitat sites
- facilitated all of Habitat's inventory efforts
- worked with other Cleveland AmeriCorps groups
- participated in service-related training programs
- assisted in getting materials and supplies to all of Habitat construction teams, and
- continued to serve as leaders within the Cleveland community

All AmeriCorps Work Crew members at Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity commit to at least one-year of service,
beginning in the fall and going through the following August.
They help Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity involve more people, reach out to more families, and have a greater impact on the Cleveland communities.
AmeriCorps serves as a direct service component of the AmeriCorps Program.
