Gift-in-Kind Manager

Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity’s Gift In-Kind Manager (GIK) will be responsible for planning, securing, and following through on In-Kind donations for the ReStore, Construction and the Affiliate at large. The purpose of the role is to identify potential donors, develop relationships and acquire valuable donations and/or professional services from current and future gift-in-kind donors on behalf of Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, for the purpose of enhancing our corporate relationships within Cuyahoga and Lorain counties and dramatically growing our annual gift-in-kind revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Conducts systematic and ongoing prospecting activities to maintain an adequate pipeline for potential donors.

·         Writes compelling proposals and oversees development of creative presentations and reports.

·         Maintains GIK donor database including donor profiles and donation history.

·         Solicits and documents feedback from Construction, ReStores and Office personnel to prioritize product/material needs.

·         Researches and catalogs strategic retail, wholesale, and manufacturing organizations for the purpose of acquisition and cultivation.

·         Develops and implements appropriate face to face and phone solicitation strategies for procurement of strategic product donations and/or professional services/trade labor.

·         Provides appropriate follow-up to leads generated from Habitat staff or other sources.

·         Maintains professional standards regarding phone interface with donors and potential product and/or professional service donors.

·         Catalogs and provides appropriate details for organizational “stories/anecdotes” for the purposes of marketing and promotion of GIK donations.

·         Keeps abreast of Gift-in-Kind best practices, IRS regulations, and other sector information.

·         Continuously monitors field demands, comparing them against existing and projected supply, to adjust plans to ensure quality, quantity, and timing of product resources needed for field programs.

·         Through strategic and active cultivation, facilitates the migration of new and current donors to higher levels of engagement.

·         Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, as assigned or needed, for the purpose of strategic engagement with product donors.

·         Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

·         High school diploma or GED Equivalent

·         Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in fundraising or sales

·         Experience in a non-profit setting

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Understands and possesses the ability to effectively articulate Habitat for Humanity’s core model and mission to potential partners and donors

·         Proficiency in Microsoft 365, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

·         Previous experience with or the ability to learn how to utilize Habitat’s Raisers Edge CRM tool to accurately record, analyze and systematically plan donor interactions.

·         The ability to create and utilize weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc management reports to track performance and results.

·         Must possess the ability to effectively build and maintain strong professional relationships, internally with all levels of personnel/departments and external contacts.

·         Very strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.

·         Ability to work as a team leader as well as a team member.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

·         Experience keeping clear records of GIK-related projects, decisions, and progress individually and for program overall.

·         Ability to multi-task in high volume situations.

·         Problem solving / solution minded capabilities.

·         Must possess reliable transportation and a current Ohio driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and ability to be insurable under commercial insurance

 

Preferred:

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Five (5) or more years of experience in fundraising or sales

 

Position Details:

  • Reports to: Chief Development Officer

  • Department: Development

  • Employment Type/Classification: Part-time (16-19 hours/week, non-exempt)

  • Workweek: Monday through Friday

  • Targeted Rate is $24 - $26 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:  The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires occasional lifting of 25 pounds or less, sitting for prolonged periods of time, and driving within the community.
