The Junior League of Cleveland held its inaugural Women of Impact Awards on March 14 at the St. Clair Ballroom in downtown Cleveland, honoring community leaders and awarding $15,000 in scholarships to women who have helped shape a stronger Northeast Ohio, according to a news release.
Six women were honored for their leadership and impact on the community that helped transform lives and strengthen the community. Award recipients included: Divya Sridhar of RE Collective LLC, Civic Leadership Award; Laura Potter-Sadowski of the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, Community Catalyst Award; Tiffany Ashley of Merrick House, Service Through Action Award; Dr. Mirriam Knight of Destiny Connections LLC, Equity in Health Award; LeAirra Lacey of Birthing Beautiful Communities, NextGen Leader Award; and Dr. Shamarah Hutchins of The Serene Corporation, Torchbearer Award.
“These remarkable women exemplify the very best of our community,” Lisa Mayhugh, Junior League of Cleveland president, said in the release. “Their leadership, passion, and commitment to service are creating real, lasting change. We are proud to recognize their achievements and amplify their impact through this event.”
The Junior League of Cleveland also awarded three $5,000 scholarships to emerging leaders committed to making a difference: Jowan Moss, Elizabeth Semidei and Laquetta Washington.
“The energy in the room was incredible,” Madison Stoneburner Simon, Junior League of Cleveland fundraiser event coordinator, said in the release. “This event demonstrated what’s possible when women come together to support, celebrate, and uplift one another. We are thrilled with the overwhelming response and look forward to growing this signature event in the years to come.”
Proceeds from the event directly support the Junior League of Cleveland’s community programs and initiatives.
The Junior League of Cleveland is an organization of women founded in 1912 that works to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training.
