Partnering with Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity gives corporations, congregations, foundations, and individuals an opportunity to work together to help reweave our Cleveland neighborhoods while participating in shared experiences. Organizations are increasingly seeking ways to involve members or employees in team-building activities, and to tie charitable contributions into group goals in order to make them more meaningful. We offer a range of sponsorship opportunities that will offer you, your company, congregation or foundation ways to collaborate in rewarding community projects.
House Sponsor
A House Sponsorship is the perfect way to partner with Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity to improve the life of a deserving family and to promote a sense of teamwork and cooperative activity. By sponsoring a Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity house, organizations can make a difference in the Cleveland community that is visible and well-publicized. You will enhance your commitment to our local community while creating visibility and good will for your organization. We offer the sponsoring organization an opportunity to provide leadership experience for its members or employees, and the opportunity to create pride in the sponsoring organization.
A full House Sponsorship is currently $80,000, which covers the average materials cost for building each home. This does not include site preparation or any overhead expenses such as tools, supplies, trucks, utilities, project management or staff, which Habitat for Humanity must secure through
additional gifts, sponsorships and philanthropic support. The sponsoring organization starts with a preliminary phone conversation/meeting with Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, followed by a formal proposal.
Sponsors are often involved in planning a dedication celebration when the house is finished and ready to turn over to the Partner Family. The Dedication Celebration is a warm and rewarding occasion for the volunteers and partnering organization to share the joys of a job well done with the family whose life they have enriched.
The House Sponsor enjoys the promotion and publicity that goes along with building a Habitat house:
- a 4' x 4' sign with the Sponsor's name and logo prominently displayed on the front of the house
- inclusion in any publicity and promotion that goes out from the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity office
- listing in the various Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity reports and publications
- the opportunity to use the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity logo and information in the development of your media program
- listing on our Major Supporters sign which is placed in front of every Greater Cleveland Habitat project site in the city, and on our web page which is visited by thousands of individuals each year
Co-Sponsor a House
Organizations can partner with other groups as Co-Sponsors on a house. This is a particularly appealing way of helping to build a safe, affordable home for a family in need if you are a smaller organization with a budget that can only support a portion of a Habitat project. Please contact us at development@clevelandhabitat.org about possible options.
Sponsor a Work Day
For gifts of $5,000 and above we can adopt a mutually beneficial time frame for your skilled and unskilled volunteers to come to a building site and work on a Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity project. A group of 5-15 volunteers can work for a day under skilled leadership at a single site. Groups over 15 persons may be split between project sites. Location and type of work will be determined by Habitat to make sure it meets current needs and so we can provide appropriate supervision. Habitat will work with the sponsor group to make sure that the schedule also fits their needs and that there is ample time for lots of photos!
