Global Partnerships engage all North American Habitat for Humanity affiliates to help other countries. Each time a home is completed here, we make a donation to support a family within the global community. We are proud to report that in recent years we have provided significant help to the countries that have become Cleveland Habitat’s ongoing partners:
Habitat understands that solutions for public health and housing are inextricably linked.
Habitat for Humanity projects now include clean water provision, sanitation intervention, distribution of mosquito netting and health programs for children affected by HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis, and other diseases.
Habitat embraces Gender Equity because poverty is higher for women due to discriminatory laws and customs and the need to carry water.
Habitat projects now provide women with affordable loans, literacy training, savings groups, income generation projects and access to water.
Forced Urbanization thorough unchecked construction of dams, privatization of fresh water, excessive pollution, civil war, military occupation and natural disasters forces billions of people to live in slums without access to clean water, sanitation, medicine, transportation, or decent housing.
Habitatprovides temporary housing, refurbishment of existing housing, partnership with healthcare providers, and improved access to basic services.
Natural Disasters take countless lives, cause significant structural damage and leave families and children homeless and hungry for years.
Habitat for Humanity is emerging as a leader in post-disaster recovery with ongoing rebuilding projects in 14 countries and throughout the Gulf Coast of the United States.
